Wella System Professional- Hydrate Shampoo with Garnier Ultra Blends- Mythic Olive conditioner for dry hair

Hi everyone!

I’m going to be talking about something interesting today, and that is why it’s supposedly better to use different brands for your shampoo and conditioner!

So firstly it’s important to understand the purpose of shampoo and conditioner.

Shampoo’s main function is to clean hair (remove dirt and hair oil). Whereas, conditioner is used to restore moisture to dry hair. Conditioners also supposedly make the hair softer, easier to comb/brush out, and restore shine, body and pH balance to the hair.

So you need to pick the right product for your hair depending on its type.

Shampoo is to be concentrated on the scalp to the mid-shaft, and conditioner on the mid-shafts to the ends of your hair.

So if you have an oily scalp and dry hair tips like me, you wouldn’t need to use a shampoo and conditioner which is both made especially for oily hair! Makes sense right?

Especially for girls with curly hair and an oily scalp- isn’t it so frustrating when your scalp starts getting oily but your ends are still frizzy? This is because it takes a longer time for your natural hair oils from the scalp to reach the ends of your hair.

So here’s an easy solution, which might just be even better for your hair! MIX IT UP!

Look at your personal hair needs. Is your hair thin? Then go in for a volumizing shampoo.

Is your hair rough or course? Then try a smoothening shampoo.

So next time you feel annoyed at running out of a shampoo/conditioner set just remember its perfectly okay to try different things together! It just matters whether you pick the ones that are RIGHT FOR YOU!

The pictures I’ve attached are some of the various mixes I use when I wash my hair! Let me know in the comments what you think about it!

PS: Sorry, for the shadows on the pictures.

Until next time!

Thank you sooo much for helping out with this. I’m someone who would always wonder on how to work on myself and take better care of myself, and your posts are the so helpful. I love the shampoo and conditioner one. I always wonder which shampoo I should choose and thought that I have to pick up the same conditioner set, but then this made me realise I could mix and match as well. Your doing something amazing and pls continue doing it.
